INPUT SHAFTS

Special heat treated input shafts for Powerglide transmissions. Recommended to use in conjunction with trans brake and/or large cubic inch engines. Available as Powerglide splined to Powerglide and Turbo Hydro splined to Powerglide transmission.

Verify proper ratio before ordering. In order to determine the ratio of your transmission (1.76 or 1.82) tighten band adjustment, mark input shaft @ 12 o'clock, mark output shaft @ 12 o'clock and rotate input shaft clockwise until output shaft makes one complete rotation.  Look at input shaft to see location of mark. If in the position of 9 o'clock, then the ratio is 1.76. If in the position of 10 o'clock, then the ratio is 1.82. In addition, lengths of the 1.76 and 1.82 input shafts are different. The 1.76 = 12 7/8"1ong and the 1.82 = 12 5/8" long.

Note: 1.76 1.96 & 2.03 use cast planetary housings.
           1.82 1.90 1.98 & 2.08 use stamped steel planetary housings.
